Sneak Peek: The Daily Decision for 3/25/14

Below is a "sneak peek" at the Daily Decision service, our take on the current market environment, and how we are playing this market.

Today's Decision: Hold Long Positions

Strategy Update:
Our Market Environment Model is Positive this morning. Therefore, we will hold our long positions today.

As always, we will send a Trade Alert via email BEFORE we make a move.

Market Outlook:
Whether the concerns are centered on China's banking system, the geopolitical situation in Ukraine/Russia, the state of the global economy, stock valuations, or the Fed's next move, the bottom line is the market outlook for the near-term remains cloudy at best. Although prices remain within spitting distance of all-time highs, the bulls are clearly struggling to maintain any sort of momentum. As such, those in the bear camp suggest that it is only a matter of time before prices succumb. Our market models remain positive at this point, but only by the slimmest of margins.

Looking at the charts... While yesterday's action was not pleasant - especially for anyone owning the high beta areas such as biotech - it really didn't do much to impact the state of the charts. As we've been saying, the current action is the very definition of a sideways, range-bound market. Thus, the key levels in this market continue to reside at 1840 and 1885 on the S&P 500.

ALL NEW: The "Next Generation" of the Daily Decision system is now available to clients of Heritage Capital. The upgraded system utilizes swing trading and mean reversion strategies during neutral market environments, multiple indices for long positions, incremental moves in and out of the market, multiple managers and multiple strategies - with the overall goal being reduced volatility, fewer and less impactful whipsaws, and a "smoother ride".

Unfortunately, the system will not be available in subscription form due to the complexity involved with the actual trading of the strategy.
